Dances
The Association of Ortachis performs a
strict traditional repertoire mainly accompanied by an mouthorgan or by voice. The dance is simple and significant it reproposes a traditional way of dancing of Bolotana.
The members of the Association (15 men and 15 women) perform dances with simple choreographies and they are arranged in alternate and regular way. A predominant figure is a circle (Su ballu tundu Bolotanesu) it represents not only the desire to stay together but also the end of a good harvest or a traditional propitiatory rite.
The dance are different it depends on the music usually plays with a mouthorgan and with the accordion. But there are dances accompained by a voice of a little group of a men called Tenore .
The Tenore in composed by 4 men : the solist voice, the bass voice, the counter voice and at last the half voice tht gives to the others the music harmony. The Tenore rappresents the traditional Sardinian music.
In Bolotana there is the Tenore called "TOTTOI ZOBBE" who sings their songs all over the Europe in several international Festivals.
Dress
The dress of the group is very simple and modest, it was worn by the greater part of the lower people in the village.
It is composed of a blouse (
sa camìsa), a girdle (
s'imbùstu), a skirt (
sa munnèdda), an apron (
sa farda) and a head kerchief (
su muccadòre).
The blouse is made by white linen trimmed with handmade lace.
The girdle is made by black velvet embroidered with coloured and floreal motif of the contry : poppies,ears of wheat and so on.
The
skirt is simple, it is made by black wood where on its back there is a particular sequence of creases, about 25/30, called
caramannòla . The history tells tht the number of the creases changed with the age of the woman.
On the skirt, the woman wear a particular apron made by a figured satin.
The head kerchief is made by dark purple wool; it is embroidered only in one corner with roses.
Man's dress
The
man's dress is simple too. Most of it is in black colour, it is composed of a blouse (
su entòne) made by white linen as a
short trousers (
sas kartzàs).On the blouse they wear a black velvet
waistcoat (
su corpètte).
On their short trousers there is a black short skirt (sas ràgas) made by sheep wool called "orbace" (furèsi).
Moreover they put on a pair of black laggings (sas mesas kartzàs) made by "orbace".
Another important element is su kabbànu a particular coat with hood also made by "orbace".
